The cogeneration of heat and electricity with the gas turbine of the E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions company for the AquafilSLO production complex supply needs is the first industrial cogeneration in Slovenia.
Project basis and goals
Cogeneration is the process of simultaneous production of several types of energy from the same source. It usually refers to the simultaneous production of electricity and heat from the same energy system. In cogeneration, heat energy that would otherwise remain unused is used in the production of electricity, and vice versa. This contributes to a greater energy efficiency and reduction of energy losses compared to separate production of electricity and heat.
Developing solutions
Cogeneration E.ON is a supplier of electricity and steam for the company AquafilSLO with a production power of Pel=7.60 MWel and with the production of steam at a parameter of 12bar(n) 255°C in an amount of up to 35 t/h.
The utilization unit for the production of superheated steam is equipped with auxiliary heating and a fan, which switches to operation with fresh air in the event of a sudden outage of the gas turbine. The transition from one operating state to another is automatic and takes place within 60 seconds - during this event, the company's steam supply is not interrupted.
IBE services
IBE prepared investment documentation for AquafilSLO (document of investment project identification (DIIP), investment program), submitted an application to the Energy Agency for a subsidy for RES and URE plants, produced documentation for obtaining a building permit (DGD), construction implementation (PZI) and as-built project documentation (PID), obtained an energy permit, and prepared a tender for signing an ESCO (Energy supply Company) contracts,
During construction, IBE cooperated with E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions and AquafilSLO in the role of technical consulting and design supervision.
