Project basis and goals
A modern clinical department for hematological diseases and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which meets the requirements of modern regulations and standards, has been arranged in the existing premises of the Ljubljana University Medical Center.
Project solutions
On the ground floor of the existing building of Ljubljana University medical Center, new hospital premises were arranged for the needs of Clinical Department for hematology with rooms for patients that meet modern standards for treatment and with special systems for isolating and filtering the air in the rooms.
Rooms for aseptic surgical procedures, intensive therapy, 10 single-bed patient rooms for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, 7 one- and two-bed patient rooms for chemotherapy, a hospital ward with 12 beds, staff rooms, associated service, common and technical rooms and two new machine rooms with systems for controlled ventilation of patient rooms were designed and implemented.
Challenges and specifics
A medical program was placed in the existing facility of Ljubljana University medical Center, which technologically and spatially exceeded the available capacities of the existing facility, and at the same time interventions were not allowed in other parts of the hospital that were not the subject of the project.
In view of the above, a variety of innovative technical solutions were carefully examined during the project phase and implemented during the implementation phase, which enabled the installation of a technologically and spatially extremely demanding program.
At the same time, the copyright and architecture of the existing DTS facility by Prof. PhD. Stanko Kristl was observed.
IBE services
IBE prepared the conceptual project, the project for construction implementation and the as-built project for the entire department, as well as the conceptual designs and a project for obtaining a building permit for parts of the project for which it was necessary to obtain a building permit (ventilation system with two new engine rooms).
During construction, IBE participated in the role of technical consulting and design supervision.
